The heart of Ses Salines is characterised by this Mallorcan village filled with austerity and tranquillity. Far away from the stress of the city, in the southernmost corner of Mallorca, it preserves its customs and its great agricultural traditions; preserving the charm of past times, an authentic rural Mallorca. The name comes from its important role as a salt producer and actually means "source of salt", the natural beauty of Ses Salines. The Faro de Cap de Ses Salines was the first lighthouse in Spain to be powered by solar panels. Before you succumb to laying out your towel in the sun, we recommend the 8km hike that runs along the sea from the lighthouse to Colonia Sant Jordi.
